“[T]he biggest theme [in Lost at Sea], for me
anyway, is how everybody in the book, including me, feel in some way as
if they’re lost at sea, and are grasping for something to get them
through. And the thing that they often grasp for is something that’s
kind of irrational, makes no sense, is ridiculous…. And [the book]
becomes almost a celebration of irrationality as a human character trait
